Blue Mesa Reservoir

Blue Mesa Reservoir is Colorado's largest body of water, and is the largest Kokanee Salmon fishery in the United States.  It is located about ten miles west of Gunnison along highway 50.  The lake is some twenty-three miles long and can hold nearly a million acre-feet of water at its maximum.

This spring/summer I've been working on a project I call "The Rise of Blue Mesa Reservoir".  With the record snowfall we had last winter, I thought we would see a good rise in the level of Blue Mesa Reservoir as opposed to recent years.  I decided to document this.  I've done two shows.  I thought I would share them with those who might be interested in seeing what happens to Blue Mesa Reservoir during the spring and summer months.  The first one, Blue Mesa, begins May 15 and runs through June 14.  Be aware that this is a rather large file (over 5-meg) and is best viewed with Microsoft Media Player 10.0.  The second one is Blue Mesa 2 and begins June 15 and runs through July 14.  I hope you enjoy these and I would be interested in your comments.
